PARIS (AP) β€” Downhill world champion Marion Rolland will miss the alpine skiing world championships next month after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.

The French skiing federation said Rolland, who crashed during a World Cup super-G in Cortina d’Ampezzo on Monday, underwent a scan that revealed the seriousness of the injury.

The 32-year-old Frenchwoman had surgery on the same knee two years ago, and missed the Sochi Olympic Games.

The world championships are being held in Beaver Creek and Vail, Colorado, from Feb. 2-15.
