Recovered Body From Boating Lake Norman Accident Identified

Crew members of the fire departments from Huntersville, Cornelius, and Denver stated the search was conducted near Blythe Landing Park, officials tweeted around 4 p.m.

According to a news release, crew members searched the area of Ramsey Creek in Huntersville until about 7:30 p.m. when the recovery was made.

Officials have identified the recovered man as 25-year-old Diego Garcia.

North Carolina Wildlife officials say Garcia was not wearing a life jacket when he went overboard. Garcia was visiting family and friends in the area at the time.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -The Iredell County Fire Team reported a pontoon boater went overboard and did not return via Twitter on Thursday, July 7th.

 

Several surrounding police departments, medics, and North Carolina Wildlife have responded to the call.
