NEW YORK– A New York man decided to bulldoze his house with everything inside while his wife was running errands.
James Rhein, 48, reportedly rented a bulldozer and tore down his 840 square foot home, Rhein claims the house was falling apart and needed to come down. His wife had no idea of her husband’s plans to demolish their house.
When Diane Andryshak returned home to find her house as a pile of rubble, neighbors say, ” She was in the middle of the road screaming, her house, what happened to her house?”
Andryshak, who was the legal owner, says they were doing repairs on the home but didn’t know her husband was going to tear it down with all her belongings inside.
Rhein was arrested during the demolition for illegal dumping and is reportedly facing criminal mischief charges. Rhein says he tried to call his wife before starting but she didn’t answer.
