Police Discover Meth Lab After Small Explosion At Local Hotel

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — A blown out hotel room window and burnt materials inside the room led police to arresting a Gastonia man for making meth. 

Police were called to the Lions Inn on US 52 North in reference to a damage to property call.  When they arrived, they realized part of the room caught fire and the window was busted out from an explosion. 

Investigators then discovered materials commonly used for making methamphetamine.  Officials immediately evacuated the building and the SBI was called in to help with clean up.

Jamie Hill has been charged with felony possession/distribute methamphetamine, felony manufacture methamphetamine and felony maintaining a dwelling.  He was given a $25,000 secured bond.
