Two weeks post-graduation, Christine began her first TV gig as a Co-host and Multimedia Journalist for the local-lifestyle morning show “Take Five & Company” at WZZM 13, the ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During that role, she became the Health/Outdoor Activity “guru” and brought her love of everything fitness and fashion-related to the show. In July of 2010, Christine was promoted to the Information Center at WZZM 13, where she continued her role as a full-time “backpack journalist” for the 6pm evening news. Six months later, she was promoted to lead morning reporter for the weekday morning news team. During her career, she has covered a wide variety of stories including the Betty Ford Funeral, the worst mass murder in Grand Rapids’ history as well special features stories. Christine is known for her emotional story-telling and bright (and quirky!) personality. Along with her hosting duties on Rising, Christine enjoys working on WCCB Charlotte’s Waiting Child program; a partnership with the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina. Together they feature children who are in need of a loving home. Growing up in the Midwest, Christine is glad to be out of the snow and here in Queen City! She enjoys “the nice weather and even nicer people!” In her spare time she loves to run, hike, go to the beach, listen to country music and spend time with her labradoodle, Bella, her husband Nick and family & friends.
