CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Troopers say a car hit an elderly woman in her front yard before crashing into a neighbor’s house.
Evelyn Tarlton, 74, was killed when an SUV ran off the road and hit her in her yard on Wednesday afternoon.
Family gathered at the scene where the accident took place.
The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Shane Stanley, was reportedly taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
