Mother Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter After Son Drowns
CHARLOTTE, NC — A Newton woman charged in connection to her son’s drowning will spend at least 16 months in prison.
Kelli LedfordΒ pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter Wednesday.Β Her four-year-old son Logan PutnamΒ died in May of 2014.Β
Investigators say he was under the water at Lookout Shoals LakeΒ for nearly 10 minutes. InvestigatorsΒ say Ledford was more than 200 feet away, and wasn’t watching him or several other children while they swam.
