SALISBURY, N.C.– According to the Salisbury Police Department, two men were shot Friday night in Salisbury after a fight broke out over beer.
Police responded to the shooting in the 500 block of North Shaver Street around 11 p.m. Friday. Β
When they arrived they found Edward Sifford, 55, suffering from a gunshot wound on the front porch of a home. Β They also found Matthew Dwyer, 54, around the corner on Cemetery Street also suffering from a gunshot wound.Β
Police say prior to the shooting the victims were sitting on the porch of a vacant house on North Shaver Street when they were approached by a man and woman who tried to steal their beer.
A physical altercation broke out and the woman shot Sifford and Dwyer multiple times.
They were both taken to N.C. Baptist Hospital for treatment.
