NEW YORK (AP) β Bernie Sanders brought a “Feel the Bern” coffee cup for Stephen Colbert along with his message of lifting the middle class. In return, he got a rock star’s welcome from the studio audience as a guest on CBS’ “The Late Show” Friday.
The Vermont senator and Democratic presidential hopeful said it’s time Americans demand that “government start working for all of us, not just the few.”
To that, as with nearly everyone he said, the audience cheered.
But Colbert asked him how he expected to go all the way to the White House without soliciting campaign contributions from big donors.
Sanders countered that he’s getting small donations from hundreds of thousands of individuals. He said he doesn’t support the agenda of corporate America.
“I don’t want their money,” he declared.
