Dr. Maya Angelou Dead At 86

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Author, poet and civil rights activist Dr. Maya Angelou has died.  She was 86 years old.  

The Mayor of Winston-Salem, Allen Joines, confirmed her death Wednesday.  He said she was found dead by her caretaker.
