LOS ANGELES (AP) β Karen O is teaming up with Lara Croft.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman has created a new theme song for the video game heroine that will be featured in “Rise of the Tomb Raider.”
The follow-up to the 2013 game that rebooted the series will be out Nov. 10 for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The song is titled “I Shall Rise” and will be featured at the end of the game.
Karen O says she hoped to create an anthem similar to Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” She was also inspired by motherhood. Karen O became a first-time mother in September.
The singer-songwriter was nominated for a best original song Oscar last year for “Moon Song” from “Her” and worked on the soundtrack for “Where the Wild Things Are.”
