CHARLOTTE, NC — A thief targets an armored truck in east Charlotte, getting away with cash. There’s no sign of the robber.
Police swarmed the Bank of America on Albemarle Road around 1:30 Friday afternoon. The bank remained open as police collected evidence. Customers were stunned someone robbed an armored truck, because the drivers are heavily armed.
“The shocking part is that they have guns and they’re prepared for situations like this, but yet it still happens,” said customer Shea Sherman.
CMPD has not released a suspect description. This is the first robbery involving an armored truck this year in Charlotte. There have been four in North Carolina this year.
