
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department conducted a ‘Watch for Me NC’ operation Thursday at CPCC. The operation focused on people not using marked crosswalks.
CMPD had 15 officers citing violators and also handed out warning citations to people not crossing in the four midblock crosswalks installed by CDOT to help students cross the road safely.
There were a total of 101 warning citations given out in a two hour time period. Officers also stopped 13 vehicles who failed to yield to pedestrians.
