March to Remember Domestic Violence Victim

Β
CHARLOTTE, NC — For the third time in six weeks, a group marched through Uptown Thursday to remember a victim of domestic violence.
Police found 53-year-old Sarah Acker dead in her west Charlotte home last week.Β Detectives say her boyfriend killed her.
Deputy City Manager Ron Kimble led Thursday’s march.Β His daughter lost her life to domestic violence three years ago.
“It takes strength and courage in order to break the bonds of emotional, psychological, physical abuse that a victim might endure, and we know how much ’cause we witnessed it,” said Kimble.
Jerry Hunter is charged with Acker’s murder.Β He got out of prison two months before the killing.
WCCB Charlotte found out Hunter has served 19 prison sentences in 16 years.
