Concerns About Diversity Among UNCC Student Leaders

CHARLOTTE, NC — Concerns about diversity among student leaders at UNC Charlotte is causing an uproar on social media.  There are reports that members of the Student Government Administration said there were too many black students in leadership roles.

WCCB Charlotte is told that several upset black students have met with the Dean of Students.

“They need to learn it’s 2015 and this is not the type of stuff we want happening on our campus,” said freshman Jaryn Ferguson.  “We are diverse and we are a big family, and we don’t believe in none of that.”

A UNC Charlotte spokesperson tells WCCB Charlotte the school takes this issue very seriously and is looking into the situation.
