Troopers: 2 children ejected in Lincoln County wreck

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C.– Two children are in extremely serious condition after a vehicle accident Saturday morning in Lincoln County.

Troopers say the accident happened on Highway 321 northbound near mile marker 29 at 9:07 a.m. Saturday.  They say the driver ran off the road into the median and overcorrected, rolling multiple times.

A 3-year-old and 11-year-old girl were ejected from the vehicle.  Troopers say they were transported to Carolinas Medical Center and are in extremely critical condition.

The driver, their mother, was also transported to Carolinas Medical Center and is in critical but stable condition.

Troopers say speed or weather do not appear to be factors and that the girls were not seat-belted properly.
