CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide/ADW Unit are investigating a the death of a three-year-old in the 700 block of Glasgow Road.Β
The call for service came in just after 1:20 p.m. and when MEDIC arrived, they found a three-year-old suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The child was transported to CMC Main by MEDIC and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Family members were inside the residence when the shooting occurred. Detectives have said the family is being cooperative and are currently being interviewed.
Detectives believe that the child was inside a residence when shot. Detectives do not suspect foul play at this time, but are in the early stages of their investigation.
