CHARLOTTE, NC —Β A former east Charlotte pastor is facing two new child sex charges. Β That brings the total number of felonies Orlando Caldera faces to 30.Β
The charges involve five girls between the ages of 6 and 10 years old. Β Caldera’s name has been removed from the sign at Memorial United Methodist Church on Central Avenue. Β The girls told police the assistant minister gave them candy and gifts to gain their trust. Β
Caldera worked at the church for about 10 years.
