LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Police have charged a mother with involuntary manslaughter after her six-month-old was found dead on Christmas Eve.
This is an update to a story from Lincoln County. Police arrested Stephanie Tillman, 30, after the father of her child called 911 saying the infant was unresponsive, naked and alone on a couch inside a home on Temple Lane.
The preliminary autopsy report was unable to determine the cause of death of the infant.
Tillman was served with involuntary manslaughter charges Tuesday. She is also facing three counts of contributing to the delinquency and neglect by parents charges and three counts of child abuse.
Two other children were also inside the home at the time of the incident. Tillman remains in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond.
