GASTONIA, N.C.– The Gastonia Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Friday on Jefferson Avenue.
Police were called to a home in the 2000 block of Jefferson Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Friday and found 62-year-old Mark Sheridan Sr. shot to death.
Police say 48-year-old Joseph Zinna shot and killed Sheridan and also shot a 45-year-old woman.
Police arrested Zinna and he is charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, shooting into occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
The investigation into this homicide is ongoing.
