LAKE PARK, N.C. — Police say a nursing home employee has been arrested for sexually assaulting an elderly patient.
Police responded to Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Services at 3315 Faith Church Road shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, in response to a reported sexual assault.
Officials say an employee witnessed a male Certified Nursing Assistant sexually assault a patient around 3:30 a.m.
After conducting interviews and collecting evidence, police arrested 60-year-old Douglas Little. Little has been charged with Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense, Sexual Act by a Private Institution Employee/Custodian, and a Crime Against Nature.
The elderly female victim of advanced age reportedly suffers from dementia, and was incapable of defending herself. She was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
