CLOVER, SC — York County Sheriff Deputies have arrested and charged 21-year-old Kevin Dejesus for the January 6th murder of Jesse Campbell.
In a release by the York Co. Sheriff’s Department Sheriff Bruce Bryant said, “This person was in possession of a Honduran passport, and the York County Sheriff’s Office will work to determine his legal immigration status in the United States.”
Deputies responded to a call from a home on 6934 Pine Moss Lane around 3:30 in the afternoon on January 6th. There they found 64-year-old Jesse Campbell dead in the home with a gunshot wound.
Campbell was the owner of Campbell’s Greenhouse in the Dilworth neighborhood. An autopsy and toxicology tests were conducted Thursday but the results will not be available for several weeks.
The case was labeled a homicide and investigated by multiple agencies.
Dejesus is being held at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center until extradition proceedings can take place.
