CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Interstate 77 toll lane construction will move forward after a judge ruled in favor of the Cintra/NC DOT contract.
The judge said it’s not up to him but the state legislature to end the contract.
A public-private partnership is providing a $648 million investment for the 26-mile expansion of I-77 Express Lanes in the Charlotte and Lake Norman region.
The goal of the express lanes is to alleviate traffic congestion in one of North Carolina’s must important corridors.
