Locked Door Stops Bank Robbery
GASTONIA, NC — A locked door stopped a bank robbery in Gastonia. There’s still no sign of the suspects.
Witnesses say two men and a woman wearing surgical masks tried to rob the Fort Financial Credit Union on North New Hope Road. It happened just before 10am on Monday.
Teachers at a daycare next door rushed to get kids off the playground.
“I think everybody remained calm,” said Leah Davis of Childcare Network. “Our children were, didn’t even know that anything was going on. And so the practice that we do definitely came through for us today.”
Police say the three suspects took off in a gray or silver car, possibly a Grand Prix.
