CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crews with the NCDOT are beginning to prep roads in the area as winter weather moves into the region.
Crews in Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell and Lincoln counties will place brine on main roads, including interstates.
Brine is a 23% salt-and-water solution that helps prevent ice from bonding to the pavement.
Crews in Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union counties will continue to monitor the forecast and will treat roads if needed.
