BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Burke County couple has been arrested in connection to the death of their 3-month-old son.
On Sunday, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sunset Grill Street in Connelly Springs. First Responders told officials they performed CPR on a three-month-old infant before it was transported to Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.
The infant and his twin brother were transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem. One infant passed away due to its injuries. The other is listed as stable.
Parents Nicholas Clark, 21, and Brittany Hefner, 24, have been charged with Felony Child Abuse.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
