K-9 Sniffs Out Meth, One Person Arrested

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Lincolnton man was arrested Wednesday after a narcotics K9 sniffed out drugs in his car.

Detectives say they saw Christopher Self, 41, run a stop sign and continue to drive erratically near Highway 18 and Highway 10.

Officials condicted a traffic stop, where Self was acting nervous and evasive. The Narcotics Unit Drug Detection K9, Anya, was allowed to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle and alerted detectives to the presence of narcotics. Detectives searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a large sword concealed under the vehicle’s driver seat.

Self was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
