Lincoln County Man Held Following Domestic Dispute

Lincoln County, N.C. — A Lincoln County man is being charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Kidnapping following an assault that occurred on Sunday.

Franklin Beam, IV, of Cherryville is accused of assaulting his girlfriend Natalie Mosteller Sunday morning. According to reports, Beam accuse Mosteller of being unfaithful and and struck her with a broom stick, his fist, and his open hand. He also allegedly choked her until she became unconscious.

Ms. Mosteller was eventually able to escape to the neighbor’s house where she called Mr. Beam’s parents, who then took her to the hospital. Ms. Mosteller was treated for injuries that included a fractured collar bone, broken nose and finger, and bruises on her arms, legs, face, and body.

Reports say authorities swore out a warrant for Mr. Beam’s arrest and went to his residence to take him in to custody. Officers kicked in the door after Mr. Beam slammed the door in their face, and detained him after a brief struggle.

Mr. Beam received felony charges for Assault with A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Kidnapping, and Assault By Strangulation. He was assigned misdemeanor charges of Resist, Delay and Obstruct a Public Officer and Assault on a Female.

Mr. Beam has been placed under a $750,000 secured bond.
