GASTONIA, N.C. – Three homes broken into the same way in Gastonia: the front door. All of them nice, large houses. All of the break-ins in the Kendrick Road area. All happened last Thursday between 8am and 12:45 PM. And one more connection: a black Camaro with tinted windows and likely a Florida tag was seen at all of the houses.Β
Β A quick-thinking neighbor at one of the crime scenes noticed the unknown car as it was leaving and snapped pictures. At another scene, Danny Lawrence’s private surveillance video captured the criminals on camera as they burglarized his neighbor’s home. It appears there are at least two guys–and possibly a third who drives the Camaro.

He says, “They are professionals. They have been spotted in the area again today. They need to be caught.”Β

The criminals are in and out of the homes in minutes. They are targeting jewelry and cash. In two instances, they also stole pillow cases to carry out their loot. The Gastonia Police Department is using social media to help get the word out. One woman posted that she saw the Camaro parked outside her house Thursday. Detective J.A. Hallman says other residents who’ve spotted the Camaro waited hours before calling the police. Hallman says, “Don’t wait several hours. Call right away so we can send an officer out there.”Β

The number police want you to call is 704-866-3300. It’s the 24/7 non-emergency line. Call them right away if you see that black Camaro with a Florida tag. You could get $1,000 reward.
