UPDATE: Detectives have identified the victim as 18-year-old Dallas Germaine Stowe. His family has been notified of his death.
The suspect has been identified as 17-year-old DeMichael Tye Adams. Authorities say Adams voluntarily turned himself in to police and, following an interview, he was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter.
Police say that the Stowe and Adams were acquaintances.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a murder that happened early this morning in west Charlotte.
Police say the original call came in to assist Medic around 2:43am Monday on the 100 block of Park Fairfax Drive. That scene was quickly cleared when officers found no one in need of assistance.
Another call came in shortly after for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon at CMC. Hospital staff told police that a man with a gunshot wound had been driven to the ER. That man was later pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the apartment complex on Park Fairfax Drive where they believe the shooting took place.
