Man Arrested After Shooting State Trooper’s Home

HIDDENITE, NC– The shooting started at a trailer and continued nearly a mile onto Johnson’s Farm Road where it ended at the trooper’s home.

This is the semi automatic gun investigators say Ethan Young was shooting last night when a neighbor showed up to complain that bullets were landing too close to his home.

Deputies say that escalated and the neighbor eventually wrestled the gun from Young, jumped into his vehicle and took off.

Warrants say young grabbed another gun, jumped in his car and chased the neighbor, firing shots at him.

That neighbor drove to the trooper’s home for help.

Witnesses say young kept rattling off shots.

Bullets hit the trooper’s house seven times.

“You can tell the guy wasn’t thinking too good to shoot into a state trooper’s home. It’s bad enough to shoot into anybody’s home but to think you’re going to shoot into a state trooper’s home…wow.” said neighbor Andy Elliot.

The trooper and his family were not home during the shooting…

A sheriff’s deputy arrested young nearby.
