CONCORD, NC — The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a person was hit and killed on I-85 near Concord Mills overnight.
Troopers say the accident happened around 2am Thursday on I-85 near mile marker 50. I-85 southbound lanes were closed for several hours while investigators worked the scene, but have reopened.
The identity of the victim has not been released, but investigators do believe they were from out of town.
No word on whether the driver will face charges. The investigation is ongoing.
