Two Separate Attempts To Break Into Gun Shops Fail
CHARLOTTE, NC– If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Even the criminals know that!
They tried to break into the Gun Outlet on North Tryon early this morning, failed, and then about 90 minutes later, tried to break into Hyatt Guns on Wilkinson Boulevard and failed again.
In both attempts, the criminals rammed a stolen vehicle into the building to try to gain access.
But at Hyatt, they rammed into the wrong business.
“Unfortunately they hit the wrong one, they hit the family dollar store first. Then realized it and then hit ours. Ah they did some damage but they didn’t get in the store and they weren’t able to steal any guns,” said owner Larry Hyatt.
Hyatt tells us mass theft is the new trend in gun store crime across the country. 8 or 10 criminals rip the door off the frame and take as much as they can from the store. Hyatt’s business is well protected from that.
