CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that happened in northwest Charlotte Thursday morning.
The shooting happened around 5:18am Thursday morning on Helms Road at Leecrest Drive. Police say a male victim was shot multiple times. Medic pronounced him dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Fredrick Butler. His family has been notified of his death.
Investigators are trying to determine if it was a drive by shooting. No arrests have been made.
