CHARLOTTE, NC — Cleanup efforts are still underway after a container fell off of a truck Friday morning spilling hundreds of gallons of paint onto Brookshire Boulevard.
Officials say around 8:47am Friday a container filled with 300 gallons of white paint fell off of a flatbed truck and emptied onto Brookshire Blvd near the ramp to I-85. The paint initially pooled but drivers coming through the area caused it to spread to other surrounding areas of the road.
Crews are currently working to clean the spill but say it could take several hours. Currently two right lanes on NC 16/Brookshire Blvd are closed as well as one lane on the ramp to I-85 North.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible until the paint can be cleaned up.
