CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a shooting that broke out at a party overnight Sunday in east Charlotte.
Three people were injured in a shooting on Bonneville Drive at Havenwood Road Sunday around 1:20am and taken to CMC. Several vehicles had also been shot into, but officials say none of the occupants were injured.
Police say a private party was taking place in the area at the time and part of the street had been blocked off by cars parked on both sides of the road. An argument broke out between two groups in the street, weapons were drawn, and a shootout began.
After interviewing victims and witnesses police say they do not believe the shooting was random. The incident is still under investigation.
