9-Year-Old Attacked by 2 Dogs in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have released the 911 call after a young boy was attacked by two Pit Bulls.

On Sunday around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a call about a canine attack near Cherrycrest Lane in Charlotte.

The victim of the attack was 9-year-old boy. Officials say he had been playing in a nearby wooded path near Archdale Neighborhood Park when he was attacked and bitten. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

The dog involved in the attack was located and taken to the CMPD Animal Care & Control Shelter. The dog is a 3-year-old Pit Bull mix and is being held for the state required 10-day rabies quarantine.

After investigating, officials determined that a second dog was involved in the attack. Both dogs were loose when the boy was attacked and belong to the same owner. The 6-year-old Pit Bull was picked up on Tuesday.
