A school district plans to arm its security officers with semiautomatic rifles.

The security director at the douglas county school district in colorado says he bought 10 assault rifles for the district’s eight armed officers… Without a vote or discussion from the school board.

The rifles will be locked in patrol cars and not kept in schools.
