MORGANTON, NC — Burke County Sheriff’s Deputies are asking for help in locating a man they say sexually assaulted two children, including one of his own.
Deputies say the mother of the two children reported the sexual assault on Monday. Investigators then spoke with the victims and provided them with a medical exam and treatment.
From that they were able to identify 32-year-old Omar Cristian Regino-Vera as the suspect. Officials say Regino-Vera was the father of one of the victims.
He is charged with statutory rape of child less than 13-years-old and incest of a child less than 13 Years Old.
Deputies say Regino-Vera has gone into hiding.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
