Attempted Abduction Leads To Increased Police Presence

CHARLOTTE, NC– Parents will see more police patrolling around Mount Holly Elementary and Middle School tomorrow. A girl says a man tried to abduct her after school.

The middle schooler says she was walking home from Mount Holly Middle on Friday when a man in a white work van drove up to her on Central Avenue.

She says she ran away when he offered her candy.

“I didn’t receive a message on my phone from the school, or anything. My son goes to the middle school across the street from the elementary school.” said Mount Holly resident Chip Laslo

Investigators say the girl did the right thing, and parents should use this to talk to their kids about what to do if they’re in a similar situation.
