CMPD officers help deliver a baby

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers helped deliver a baby early Saturday morning on I-77.

Police say Officer Caskey and Officer Jackson were assisting with a deadly wreck on I-77 near Graham Street when they were flagged down by someone who said a woman was going into labor.

Both officers assisted in delivering a healthy baby girl.

The mother and baby were taken to Carolinas Medical Center and are doing well.
