Monroe, N.C. — Union County and Monroe fire departments are investigating a house fire that occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday on Waxwood Drive. 
The fire engulfed the house and spread to the attic where it was put out.
Firefighters rescued a dog and no one was injured.
Members of the Red Cross are helping the family.
