Charlotte Man Dies Nearly Two Weeks After Being Hit By Car

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man has died as a result of injuries he sustained after being hit by a car on April 30th, 2016.

Reports say, 49-year-old, Michael Lewis O’Keefe died on Monday night at Carolina’s Medical Center where he had been transported following the accident.

Authorities responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on April 30th, and found Mr. O’Keefe in the roadway with serious injuries near the intersection of The Plaza and Matheson.

The driver, 27-year-old Quincy Jasmeen Hickson, was uninjured in the accident and is not expected to face charges. Police say that speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. They also report that it was raining at the time of the incident, and that Mr. O’Keefe was wearing dark clothing and believed to be walking outside of the crosswalk.

The accident is still being investigated at this time.
