MORGANTON, N.C. — The water system for the city of Morganton was shut down after a line was damaged at the plant.
Customers experienced low water pressure due to the break, according to city officials.
βWeβre basically running on whatever water is currently in the system until we get this valve repaired,β said Water Resources Director Brad Boris. βI want to encourage all customers to conserve as much water as possible until we get this fixed and start pumping water back into the system.β
The contractors damaged a valve on a primary finished water line at the plant, according to a news release. All water produced at the plant passes through the finished water line before heading out into the City’s water system. The valve has been repaired andΒ the plant will resume pumping water into the system.
