ROCK HILL, SC — Police have arrested two people after a man was shot and killed in a car shortly after midnight.
Police say a 20-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in a car on Cherry Laurel Lane around 12:26am Wednesday. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
At an apartment complex not too far from the scene police arrested 24-year-old Ernest Thompson of Lancaster and 24-year-old Lauren Rawlinson of Rock Hill in connection to the murder.
Thompson is being charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and two counts of attempted murder. Police say the attempted murder charges are from two other people being in the car when the victim was shot and killed. They were not injured however.
Rawlinson is charged with accessory after the fact.
The two will have a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.
