Duke Energy says power has been restored to residents and businesses Uptown.
The outage was caused by an accident on E. 5th St. at N. McDowell St. Crews had to shut off a portion of the grid while they made repairs.
Traffic maps still show several traffic lights malfunctioning in the area, so use caution as you approach the intersections.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Around 9:14am Thursday Duke Energy reported over 1,400 power outages in Uptown Charlotte.
Crews are working to restore the lost power but say it could be 11:30am before it is completely restored.
Drivers going through Uptown should use caution as traffic light malfunctions are being reported throughout the area.
