BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Police Department officers were dispatched to a collision between a truck and a 12-year-old cyclist.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, a truck collided with a cyclist in Belmont, according to a new release. Belmont Police state that the cyclist entered an intersection due to brake failure on the bicycle. The report says he collided with center door of the truck and was not wearing a helmet during the collision.
The juvenile was taken to Caromont Regional in Gastonia. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
