Charlotte Man Arrested Following Shootout In Salisbury Apartment Complex
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – Two men are facing charges following a shootout in an apartment complex just outside of Salisbury, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4:34 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7th, 911 operators received numerous calls of a reported shooting at the Woodland Creek Apartment Complex off Statesville Boulevard.
When police arrived, they found at least four cars and three apartments “riddled with bullet holes.”
Investigators arrested 27-year-old Michael Daryle Withers at the apartment complex. Another person was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies also found an AK-47 style rifle hidden in the nearby woods that they believe was used in the shootout.
Police charged Withers will assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He received a $10,000 secured posted bond before being booked into jail.
Withers was out on bond for a murder back in August of 2021 in Huntersville where he’s accused of shooting another man during an argument at a park.
The person hospitalized, 25-year-old Shikese Zontae Mcentyre, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into two occupied dwellings and damage to property for shooting into parked cars.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident, and additional charges and arrests are expected in the coming days.
