Burn Ban  A burn ban is now in place for 30 (was 14) counties in western North Carolina. This includes our counties in the High Country and Foothills along with Iredell, Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston and Mecklenburg counties. This new burn ban went into effect at 5 PM Wednesday and will also be in place until further notice. This means all burning permits for these counties have been canceled.
