HICKORY, N.C. – An 85-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital after a car crash in Hickory on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Hickory Police Department.
Police said a 2019 Audi A5 was traveling north on NC-127 when it collided with a 2013 Ford Fusion at 16th Avenue Northwest intersection. The crash happened around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7th.
The passenger of the Ford vehicle, 85-year-old Lona Madeline Stafford, was transported to the Carolinas Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
It is unclear at the moment if either driver sustained any injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Hickory Police Department.
